NPS Vatsalya · For minors

Start their retirement before their first day of school.

NPS Vatsalya lets a parent or guardian open a pension account for a child under 18. Decades of compounding go to work early and the account grows up with them into a full retirement plan.

What it is

A retirement account that begins in childhood and never has to be restarted.

Birth–17
Guardian invests

A parent or guardian opens the account and contributes on the child's behalf, choosing how the money is invested.

Turns 18
It becomes theirs

The account seamlessly converts into a standard All-Citizen NPS in the child's own name - no restart, no new account.

18 → 60
Compounds for life

They continue as a regular NPS subscriber, with decades of a head start already working in their favour.

Why start this early

TIME does most of the work, not the TIMING

01
Decades of extra compounding

Starting in childhood rather than the first salary can multiply the final corpus several times over.

02
A seamless handover at 18

No paperwork scramble when they grow up - the account simply continues as a regular NPS in their name.

03
The same wide investment choice

Equity, corporate bonds and government securities, run by the same PFRDA-regulated fund managers.

04
A low, friendly entry point

Begin with as little as ₹250 a year - a habit any family can sustain.

05
A lesson in money that lasts

Children grow up seeing a long-term corpus take shape, building financial discipline early.

06
One account for a lifetime

The PRAN opened today stays with them through every job, city and stage of life.
